The Hideout is a board game bar and café that offers a cozy and relaxed environment for people to come together with their friends and family to grab a drink, a bite to eat and play some board games.
You are welcome to visit us without a reservation. However, we do have a limited number of tables so we would recommend booking in advance during our busier periods. (Evenings and Weekends)
Some games are over in a matter of minutes, while some could keep you playing for hours. It’s up to you how long you want to book your table for. You can keep the good times rolling!

Not at all. The Hideout is suitable for the whole family. We have a large selection of board games suitable for ages 5 to 105.
Anyone younger than 13 years (12 and below) cannot be left in our venue unattended at any time. They’ll need to be supervised by an adult over the age of 18.
Those 13 to 17 years old can be in our venue until 8pm. After 8pm they must be accompanied by an adult (18+).
No under 18s are allowed in the venue after 9pm.
We have a large collection of over 200 boardgames that cater to various player levels and interests. Check out THE GAMES page for a list of all the boardgames we have available.
If the table is free after your timeslot is due to finish, our hosts will be able to offer you options on extending your game if this is something you’d like to do!
We sure do! Our food selection on opening will be simplistic and designed as quick bites you can enjoy while staying focussed on winning whatever game you happen to be playing.

Yes, it’s all QR based. No need to pause the game while someone goes to order. Just order via the QR code and we’ll bring your order straight to your table. Remember to order at least 20 minutes before your game end time.
The Hideout is a CARD ONLY venue. Most ordering takes place via QR code, so ensure your phone has plenty of battery. We can take manual orders, but these will still be payable by card payment only. We accept VISA and Mastercard.
You can, but there may be a long wait (or simply no availability). We currently have 13 tables which can get booked up pretty quickly during our busier periods so we 100% recommend BOOKING ONLINE.
We’re pretty relaxed here at The Hideout and we don’t have a dress code, just make sure your wearing something.
That’s the plan! Though right now we’re focussing on getting open, we definitely plan to host themed nights for certain games and special events when we can!

There is plenty of on street parking right outside our venue after 6pm and all day Sundays.
Outside of these times you can use one of the paid parking bays on the street which can be paid for through an app only. These bays have a maximum stay of 4 hours.
The nearest car park is located on Hospital Street which is a 5-10min walk away from us.
The Hideout is situated in the the Jewellery Quarter in the centre of Birmingham and therefore has a number of viable options if travelling by public transport.
If you’re travelling by train – The Hideout is situated a 2-minute walk away from Snowhill Station.
If you’re travelling by bus – The Hideout is situated an 8-minute walk away from Colmore Row which has a frequent bus service.
The Hideout is well lit and designed to provide a relaxed atmosphere so you won’t find any flashing lights during normal operating hours. Flashing lights may sometimes be used during our special events so please e-mail us if you plan to attend one of these events and are sensitive to flashing lights.

We are! The Hideout is fully wheelchair accessible and our staff are more than happy to assist in any way they can during your visit – just call them over! We also have an accessible toilet.
